Welcome to Compass
What APMT Compass is and how its documentation is organized.
Compass is a web dashboard for live terminal operations — quay, yard, gate, rail, and container-handling equipment (CHE) — built so operators, planners, and managers can see what's happening right now and dig into the history behind it.
Each physical terminal you're assigned to gets its own tailored set of dashboards: only the modules that terminal actually uses show up in your sidebar, driven by real-time and historical data pulled from the terminal's operating systems.
How these docs are organized
This is intentionally two separate sets of docs:
- General docs (what you're reading now) — a short, non-technical tour of what each module in Compass does. Start with Getting Started if this is your first time here.
- Page Reference — detailed, per-page documentation maintained by the Compass team, covering individual dashboards, filters, and KPI definitions in depth. You can also open this contextually from inside the app — most KPI cards and views have a small help icon that jumps straight to the reference page for what you're looking at.
What's inside
- Live Operations — real-time vessel operations as they happen
- Quay, Yard, Gate, CHE, Rail — deep analytics for each operational area
- Terminal & Operator Performance — how the terminal and its crews are trending over time
- SQDC, Deviation Management, Forecast, Compass Flow — cross-cutting views that combine multiple operational areas
Use the sidebar to browse each module, or the search bar above to jump straight to a topic.
